THE ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS

New Year marks a new beginning. However, an incarnate festival celebrated a week before the awakening is Christmas. Christmas essentially marks the birth of Christ Jesus and with him happiness and joy. The festival inevitably witnesses people giving in to the traditions of preparing the marzipan, rose cookies, neureos and of course the spellbinding Christmas tree and Crib

But what still remains latent is the ideals the festival propagates – peace, love, forgiveness and reconciliation. In a world full of turmoil, injustice and discontent, it becomes difficult to just sit back and not worry about recent happenings in our nation and around the world. But this Christmas, it’s time to let go of the baggage of the past. Stop worrying about what you could’ve done to fix it.

You can never have the perfect kind of Christmas. It’s also very difficult to forgive and forget. But at least, start spending time with your loved ones. Love can get lost amidst the hustle and bustle of life. Decorating the Christmas tree or the Crib together can make your festival qualitative and fun. Also make it up by exchanging gifts and going shopping.

By being stressed and pressure we're only breaking ourselves down. Don't beat yourself up or let the world or people make you bitter. Cherish the love this Christmas, make memories, forget the regrets because everything is already planned by the divine, all you need to do is give it a head start. It's not about forcing yourself to be happy, just don't let sadness ground you. Christmas is way more than just presents or Santa Claus. The red and white colours of Christmas symbolize peace and love. Green reinforces the birth of life. Bells ring in harmony. Carols add to the music and rhythm of life. Sweets augment sweetness and the chilling December just reminds you that the dawn of a new sunrise is imminent.

Are we cleaning it or killing it clean?

Are we cleaning it or killing it clean?

What is it to live in a clean city? Is it to keep your compounds clean while you leave your cupboards dirty? Or pay the Swachh Bharat cess with curses and abuses? Or even worse, build smart cities by uprooting its green fingers generously called as ‘Trees’?
Charity begins at home, so they say; and that home is your heart. At least Mahatma Gandhi got it right, “I will not let anyone, walk through my mind with their dirty feet.” Stay away from temptations, vices and corruption. Even Shrimad Rajchandraji, the great spiritual leader and Mahatma's Guru, pronounced truth and compassion. So zip those lips prone to kasams and gaalis. After all there is nothing that can beat a ‘clean’ conscience and a pure soul.
With a life governed by work and consumed by social media, hygiene has surreptitiously gone for a toss. It’s unfortunate that youngsters today rely on deo sprays more than soap and a bucket of clean water. This may sound crazy, but, this is a kind appeal to all the college walas to wash their jeans more often and get rid of that Sunday to Sunday bath routine. Remember, a healthy mind dwells in a healthy body.
Now, with a clean heart, mind and body, wouldn’t it be easier for every Indian to transcend the vibes of positivity on to their city and make it look like those few pages from a dream book? A clean city is a dream city and even dreams are achievable.
Our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji has generously dedicated the 2nd of October for Swachh Bharat campaign to fulfil the dream of the Father of our nation. We at Care Foundation wholly support his initiative and pledge to achieve Mahatma’s dream of a clean heart, clean soul and above all a clean city.
Happy Gandhi Jayanti!
